I am running for re-election to the State Senate because we need to continue to have a strong voice in Topeka that consistently reflects the values of our community. A chilling, decidedly extreme conservatism, will grip the Kansas Legislature and our State next Session.
Traditionally, Kansans have taken pride in our strong communities: excellent public schools; lower taxed businesses; prospering manufacturing industries ... from 
agricultural to assembly, as well as intellectual and literary
superiority in academics and high technology. Kansas holds great pride. But today, unprecedented legislative 
revenue cuts, and a yet uncertain national economy threaten, dangerously,the future of our state government’s societal responsibilities ( like: quality public educational
opportunity; safe streets; economic development and affordable healthcare access... ), and real challenges lie ahead to maintain the quality of life that we, Kansas City Kansans, have come to treasure. As seldom before, suddenly, for our peace, security and prosperity, the Kansas Statehouse is the big leagues and now is NOT the time for amateurs; “tea-partiers” or hucksters. To these challenges, history indicates that I bring long term outspoken experience and leadership.
